Belgian investment company Verlinvest is geared towards sectors such as food, beverages and sustainability. The firm is known for its involvement with brands and businesses of renown, often with a focus on sustainability and long-term value creation.
Between August and October 2021, we renovated two of their office spaces on the 3rd and 6th floor of the iconic Flagey building in Brussels; jointly representing some 400m² in floor area. As part of the renovation project, we replaced the IT cabling, the ventilation system, the furniture fixtures, the flooring and redid the painting.
A particular focus of attention went out to the meeting and call boxes, which were required to meet very strict acoustic standards. Another important requirement was for us to be respectful in the way we dealt with the authentic Flagey elements. One example being the ceiling lights, which were left fully intact.
The use of fanciful materials, including light oak formica and matching carpet tiles produced a vibrant, youthful and fresh look, whilst retaining the trademark Flagey character.
